GRIEF: Impacts on Student Learning and the School Community Saturday, April 5, 2014 Room 219a The purpose of this Grief Recovery Method® Workshop is to educate the public about the existence of grief beyond death and divorce. While grief is normal and natural, most of the information passed on within our society about dealing with grief is not normal, natural or helpful. grief is the emotional response to loss, but most of the information we have learned about dealing with loss is intellectual. Learn how losses are impacting students ability to learn. The importance of incorporating accommodations in Individualized Education Plans (IEP's) and Response to Interventions (RTII) when students are in grief. Learn how a multitude of losses affect the physical, mental and social wellness of a school community and resource that are available. |
